We’re talking about the Ukrainian Signal film promotion project in Europe. The Ukrainian Signal team promotes Ukrainian culture within the European Union by showcasing contemporary Ukrainian films.

During russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, many Ukrainians changed their usual professions to volunteer activities. This led to the Ukrainian Signal initiative, a full-fledged charitable foundation. The Ukrainian Signal team promotes Ukrainian culture in the European Union through large-scale screenings of contemporary Ukrainian films. The past nine years of Russia’s hybrid war against Ukraine have shown that the cultural front is crucial in shaping public attitudes toward social problems.

 

In addition, Ukrainians showed phenomenal solidarity when collecting donations for the army’s needs and people affected by the Russian invasion. Ukrainian Signal was also not indifferent to assistance and organized charity fundraising during screenings for the needs of Ukrainians.

 

The Ukrainian Signal team asked us for help promoting their European film screenings. The essential tasks were to attract as many viewers as possible to the screenings and to reach the broadest possible audience within the framework of the promotional campaign so that more people could learn about Ukrainian contemporary culture and art.

 

To launch the campaign, we chose the social media platforms Facebook and Instagram, which provide coverage to a broad audience, flexible targeting based on interests and audience behavior, and convenient event organization functionality, such as film screenings.

 

We developed an optimal funnel with Ukrainian Signal for attracting viewers to the screenings. The basis of the campaign was the promotion of video posts developed as teasers for a specific film and a call to action for the relevant target audience.

 

Additionally, a Facebook event was created for each screening, which served as an information hub with information about the screening, the film, and a link to purchase tickets.

 

Ticket sales were organized on relevant online platforms that sell tickets in the locations where the screening was planned.

 

During the campaign, we launched advertising on Facebook and Instagram with the following objectives:

  • – promoting Facebook and
  • – attracting traffic to the ticket purchase page.

 

 

Such an approach has shown excellent results – a complete sellout of tickets for almost all screenings!

Throughout the 5-month campaign, we reached more than 300,000 people in Europe and attracted over 2,800 viewers to the screenings.
